Winfield High School is represented by Sydne Paige Alexander. Sydne has one brother, Jaxin Alexander, and is the daughter of Derek and Nichi Alexander of Teays Valley. She is the granddaughter of Tony and Jaeda Smith of Teays Valley, Kelley and the late Richard Lanning of Hurricane, as well as Fred and Dana Alexander of Tennessee. Sydne is involved in a number of activities and clubs in and out of school. She is the secretary of the senior class and a member of Link Crew, Pep Club, Key Club, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Sydne’s extracurricular activities include varsity soccer and Winfield High School’s show choir. She also participates in club soccer for Eastern Elite Soccer Academy, and formerly, for West Virginia Futbol Club. For both high school and club soccer, Sydne is a team captain. Her accolades in varsity soccer include All Kanawha-Valley Freshman of the Year, three-time all-state and all-conference member, and Region 4 Player of the Year. While succeeding in these extracurricular activities, she maintains a 4.2 GPA and has completed several college courses. Sydne is a member of the Hurricane First Church of the Nazarene. She has participated in various community service activities, but her favorite is Top Soccer through Putnam United. Sydne’s biggest achievement thus far is having the honor of being selected as the 2024 West Virginia Scholar winner, which gives her full tuition to West Virginia Wesleyan College. After graduating high school, Sydne plans to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College where she will play soccer and major in Health Sciences. While in college, she hopes to become involved in several activities and clubs. Upon completion of her major, Sydne plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as a Pediatrician.

Hello, my name is Macy Murdoch. I am representing Buffalo High School as Miss BHS. I am the daughter of Rob and Autumn Murdoch. My escort, Anthony Pitchford, is also a senior at Buffalo High School. He is the son of Jeff and Jennifer Pitchford. While attending Buffalo High School, I have been very involved and participated in many clubs and activities. I am the Secretary of our high school’s chapter of National Honor Society as well as National Teenage Republicans. I am a Captain of the BHS Dance Team and active member of the Golf Team, Track Team, Bison for Christ, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Pep Club, and Prom Committee. I attend Midway Church, and volunteer regularly at All Aboard Therapy. After I graduate high school, I plan to attend Marshall University in pursuit of a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. I would love to work with both pediatric and geriatric populations. My sincerest thank you to my classmates and school for giving me the opportunity to represent Buffalo High School. The Queens of 2024

Hi, my name is Carly Dingess, representing Hurricane High School as Miss Hurricane. I am the daughter of Joey and Alicia Dingess and sister to Caden Dingess. I attended Hurricane Middle School and I am currently a senior at Hurricane High School. I’m thankful for all the opportunities I have both socially and academically at Hurricane High School. I am the historian of both National Honor Society and the student body. I’m a member of the National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, DECA, Link Crew, and Raze Club. In my community, I actively participate in Backpack Buddies, visit local elementary schools, and support the Putnam County Animal Shelter. I am Captain of the reigning West Virginia state champion cheerleading team. I was also a member of the World Championship team at Famous Superstars. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, shopping, and taking pictures. I maintain over a 4.0 GPA while taking many college courses that will prepare me to attend West Virginia University in the fall of 2025. I plan to pursue a degree in business with hopes to attend law school. I am very grateful for the opportunity to represent my school as Miss Hurricane and I would like to thank my teachers, classmates, and friends for supporting me. Go Redskins

Shiloh Harding is the daughter of Chad and Bille Harding of Poca. She is currently a senior at Poca High School and was chosen to be Miss Poca High School 2024-2025. Shiloh has grown up in the town of Poca and has attended school there since Kindergarten. Hunter Tusing, also a senior at Poca High School, is the son of Allison LeMaster of Bancroft and Courtney and Autumn Tusing of Hurricane. He will be serving as her escort. During her years at Poca High School, she has been actively involved, serving as president in the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Students Against Destructive Decisions. She is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Science National Honor Society, Link Crew, Mu Alpha Theta, and Prom Committee. She also serves as the captain of the girl’s basketball team and the alto section leader for Poca Visual Volume. Additionally, Shiloh attends Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene where she serves in the worship ministry. Following graduation, She will have completed 30+ hours of college classes and plans to graduate early from West Virginia State University with a degree in Business. Following college, she intends to go to Mortuary School. Shiloh would like to thank her fellow classmates and teachers for giving her the opportunity to represent her school, as it is an honor she does not take light!
