Lia Fisher Miss Winfield

Hello, my name is Sarah Affolter, and I am proudly representing Buffalo High School as Miss BHS. I am the daughter of Lisa and Nathan Affolter and the sister of Rachael Hanna. I grew up attending Confidence Elementary and George Washington Middle School, and I am now proud to be a senior at Buffalo High School.

Throughout my time at Buffalo High School, I have been fortunate to participate in many activities and organizations, including softball, Bison for Christ, Link Crew, Student Council, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and FFA. Through these organizations, I have had the opportunity to grow as a leader and serve my school and community. In Bison for Christ, I served as the reporter. In Student Council, I have served as both freshman and junior class president. I currently serve as president of National Honor Society, and through FFA, I have served as chapter reporter and, most recently, chapter vice president.

Outside of school, agriculture and livestock have always been a huge part of my life. I enjoy showing livestock and am proud to be a member of the Putnam County Fair Junior Fair Board. I am also a member of the youth group at Lone Oak Church of God Mission, where I have been blessed with the opportunity to grow in my faith and serve alongside others.

After high school, I plan to attend Morehead State University to pursue a degree in agriculture, with a particular interest in animal and plant nutrition while continuing to explore the many different areas of agriculture. I hope to further my education by earning a master’s degree and Ph.D. in agriculture at the University of Tennessee. One of my biggest goals is to eventually own and operate my own cattle business while continuing my involvement and career in FFA and agriculture. I also hope to incorporate my love of photography into my future career and the agricultural industry.

I would like to sincerely thank the three community members of Buffalo who chose me to represent our school as Miss BHS. It is an incredible honor, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity. I am proud to represent Buffalo High School and the Buffalo community, and I look forward to making the most of this experience and representing my school with pride.

Holly Hopkins Miss Hurricane

I have been a life long student at Poca since kindergarten. I stay actively involved at Poca High school through both academics and sports. I participate in softball and basketball, which have helped me learn how to be a leader, strengthen my teamwork skills, and most importantly keep me involved in making my community proud. In addition to athletics, I have recently been elected as the historian of FBLA and the parliamentarian for Speech and Debate at my school. I am also a member of our high school’s Quiz Bowl team, Rho Kappa, National Honor Society, and National Science Honor Society. Being a part of these organizations has allowed me to grow as a student while contributing to a positive and motivated school environment.

My community is incredibly important to me. It is a place full of love and support, and it has played a major role in shaping who I am today. I am grateful to be surrounded by people who encourage me to succeed and give back. This strong sense of community inspires me to stay involved and represent my school and hometown in the best way possible. As for being active in my community, I am on the of the teen board of LulaBelle’s Boutique in Poca and a senior rep for a Poca alumni Cylie Feldhaus’s photography. I have also began working part time at McDonald’s.

After graduating, I plan to attend West Virginia University and major in psychology. My goal is to become a child psychologist and help raise awareness for mental health issues in children. I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, and I hope to use my education and personal experiences to support and advocate for those who need it most.

My name is Holly Hopkins; I am 17 years old and a senior at Hurricane High School. While at Hurricane, I am a varsity cheerleader, where I participate on both the Traditional Competition team and the GameDay Competition team. I am also honored to have been chosen as an All-American Cheerleader while representing Hurricane High School and the cheerleading program.

After graduation I plan to attend West Virginia University, where I will major in Biology and work towards my goal of perusing dentistry program.

During my time at Hurricane High School, Ihave been involved in several organizations and clubs. I am involved in the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Helping Paws, Big Brothers and Big Sisters program, Link Crew, and Prom Committee. Being actively involved in my school has taught me not only responsibility,
but also, the importance of leadership and giving back to others in my community.

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, shopping, working, and hanging out with my friends and family. I am an active employee at Almost Heaven Nutrition and a member of United Disciples of Christ Church.

After graduation I plan to attend West Virginia University, where I will major in Biology and work towards my goal of perusing dentistry. I am excited to continue to challenge myself by pursuing my academic goals, and I look forward to this next exciting chapter of my life. I am thankful for all the memories and experiences I have gained throughout my time
at Hurricane High School, and I cannot wait to continue to grow personally, and academically while attending West Virginia University.

The Queens of 2026

Hello, my name is Lia Fisher, and I am a senior at Winfield High School. It is a privilege to represent WHS as Miss Winfield 2026. As the daughter of Chad and Kensie Fisher and the sister of Reid and Rylan, I have been blessed with a loving family who has supported and encouraged me every step of the way. My faith in God, along with the love of my family and friends, has played an important role in shaping the young woman I am today.

At Winfield High School, I stay actively involved in a variety of organizations and clubs, including Link Crew, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Pep Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I am also a WHS Cheerleader and am excited to compete this year as a member of both the Game Day and Traditional Competition teams, as well as cheering on the Generals! The friendships, teamwork, discipline, and opportunities for personal growth that cheerleading has provided are things I will always value.

Outside of school, my faith continues to be an important part of my life. I attend River Ridge Church in Teays Valley, where I volunteer in the nursery. Serving others and giving my time and talents to the people and organizations that are meaningful to me is something I truly enjoy.

Following graduation, I plan to attend college, major in Business, and pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales.

I am thankful to my classmates for the opportunity to represent our school as Miss Winfield. I look forward to celebrating this special occasion with my classmates, making lasting memories, and enjoying every moment of our senior year! Above all, I give all thanks and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for His guidance and blessings. I am deeply grateful for my family, friends, teachers, coaches, and classmates who have supported me, encouraged me, and believed in me. Go Winfield!
